After their last hunt, Sam had suggested a break. Not a long one, just a few resting days to relax before they moved onto the next evil thing in need of killing. Sam had hit the town’s used bookstore and Dean stocked up on cleaning supplies for the Impala and their weapons.

They were now both in the motel parking lot, Sam under a tree reading and Dean cleaning the Impala top to bottom, inside and outside.

Sam watched Dean smile fondly at the shining, clean car and made a mental note to suggest more breaks. They could use them.

They could definitely need more breaks. I can imagine this scene, and others like it, so clearly. It also helps to explain why in some episodes the dear Impala all of a sudden looks newly cleaned! I really enjoyed this drabble. It left me wanting more, which I take the be the mark of a good piece.
